Customer Critiques

Wow. These toy helicopters have definitely come a lengthy way in the past couple of years. I have purchased a number of models since the craze started but this new generation with built-in gyros are the most stable however.
This certain copter is really light weight and nimble in the air. You won't be flying this outdoors considering that a slight wind will whisk it away but everybody knows these points are intended for indoor fun anyway. I was exceptionally impressed with the precise control you have over this copter. Prior models that I have owned were basically only superior for going up and down and perhaps you could nudge them in a forward direction if you had been lucky. This copter is a breeze to maneuver and the trim manage on the remote will allow for producing minute adjustments fairly easily. There is also a turbo button that supposedly boosts the speed of the copter but I have not played with that but. I get the default speed to be great adequate for the pretty low ceilings in my spot (wouldn't want to increase and send the copter crashing).
A further fantastic feature is the "no snap back" elevation controls. This lets you set a height with the left joystick and then take your finger off the manage completely. Your copter will remain at the set height and you can just worry about the direction controls from there. Other models I have played with have a spring in the left stick which tends to make keeping an exact elevation a chore.
One factor to note is that when you 1st turn it on the copter may not respond ideal away. There seems to be a bit of "boot up" time amongst the remote and copter. Very likely by design so that persons do not get a face complete of whirling blades when they switch on their copter. Following a handful of seconds even though almost everything will kick in and you will be prepared to fly.
The seller notes that colors can vary from the one pictured. Indeed the box shows that there are 5 completely different color variations. The seller just sends them out at random. All the styles appear pretty cool although so I guess it is not a enormous deal. Mine was white btw.
General I am fairly pleased with my new toy. The learning curve for flying is so low that you will be producing precision runs inside minutes of opening the box. The only somewhat unfavorable encounter I had was the screw from the battery compartment on the remote was missing when I took it out of the box. I believed that the manufacturer had neglected to involve it but I later located it on the floor. Guess it dropped out without having me seeing it. No harm no foul but it would have been much better if the screw had been screwed into the remote from the start out.
Wonderful little toy. Excellent prospective stocking stuffer.

It was suprising how stable this small helicopter is. It was uncomplicated sufficient for my tiny niece to handle. Takes about 20 minutes to charge for which you get about 6 to ten minutes of flight time, which is pretty beneficial for an rc helicopter at this price tag point. The manual is a little vague but most buttons are fairly straightforward.
Although it looks fairly frail, it truly held up fairly well in spite of crashing into all kinds of objects. Certainly would advise to anyone searching for a fine rc helicopter.

Consumer Reviews

I've had a Syma S107 for the final nine months so that's what I have to compare it to. The Blade is smaller and lighter. It is alot more stable whilst hovering. It has a swashplate, like a true helicopter, rather than a tail rotor for pitch control. Like most compact R/C helicopters, it has yaw control but will not crab (at least not when you want it to).
Forward flight is really slow, slower than the S107, slower than a walk. It would be simpler to fly than the S107 except for 1 annoying quirk. If you're going straight ahead, then move the cyclic to neutral to go into a hover, this factor crabs to the left and slightly backwards. Not just a bit, but maybe a foot or two. Enough to run into whatever it was you were trying to steer clear of when you told it to go into a hover. This is not a fatal flaw, and would not hold me from purchasing this helo, but it positive does take some receiving utilized to. It is easy to trim, and the trim holds effectively.
Charging is from the controller's battery. The S107 charged from a separate USB cable, which I appreciated given that it saved the controller battery. Charging and run time are both fine.
One particular issue I really like about this helo, while I have not had a chance to genuinely test it, is that it seems really sturdy. The S107 has these tiny plastic nubs for the gyro linkage that broke off within a couple of weeks, and necessary replacing the whole upper rotor assembly and inner shaft. The nubs on the Blade look much sturdier, and superior yet, there is a spare nub on the rotor in case you break a single. The physique appears substantially flimsier than the S107 but I do not consider that is where you're going to get critical damage. The rotor blades are thin low-priced plastic and are currently finding pitted but it looks like they will be easy and low cost to replace when the time comes (but ask me again in a couple months).
So far I am completely satisified with this bird but time will tell.
UPDATE: Two months later
Like the plastic nubs on the S107, the Blade has its personal Achilles heel. The upper rotor has two thin plastic pins that go into the shaft assembly. As the rotor pitch changes, the rotor swivels on these pins. In two months I've had to replace the upper rotors twice when these pins broke off. But it's nonetheless better than the S107. These pins don't seem to break as quickly as the S107 nubs, and when they do, they are each more affordable and less difficult to replace. If you crash as considerably as I do, it's a fine thought to hold a couple of spare upper rotors on hand.
As for the tendency to slide back and left when going from forward motion to hover, this is apparently a mild form of "toilet bowl syndrome" and can be lowered by keeping the above mentioned swivels clean. It happens when the upper rotor angle does not transform immediately adequate in response to gyro input. My home has adequate cat hair lying about that it tends to foul the pins.

Prior to purchasing the Blade Scout CX, my encounter with RC helicopters was with an eSky Honeybee. I produced the mistake that lots of initially-time buyers do in shopping for too a lot helicopter for my ability level. In brief order I turned $200 worth of helicopter into a pile of plastic shards.
I now have about a week's worth of expertise with the Blade Scout CX and understanding to fly it has been a genuinely satisfying knowledge. It exhibits outstanding stability in hovering and flight thanks a number of design elements which consist of coaxial principal blades, gyroscopic yaw control and a nicely designed fly bar program. You can appear up what these functions are on any number of RC helicopter internet sites. This is a neat tiny piece of technology that with a tiny care, you can fly proper out of the box. Although you will probably be flying effectively in just a few minutes, there is a learning curve. You will crash it repeatedly. Luckily, it's also pretty sturdy. It comes with one particular flight battery which is beneficial for about eight minutes of flight. I recommend that you obtain 1 or two added batteries for even more flight time and a pair of upper primary blades (these broke on about my 20th crash). Each are low price products.

Customer Reviews

Acquiring pretty significantly mastered the co-axial,S107 I decided to try out the Air Max 9103 fixed pitch Heli. This copter is a full unique animal. It is rather aggresive compared to the S107 but not practically as stable and percise. I don't know if I got a negative heli, but to begin out the LED light was not operating. My 1st flight, it took off and hit the top of the garage door and slammed to the floor. The plastic Head cover broke as well as the cabin lock which holds the head cover in location. The heli took off so rapidly that it did not even give me a chance to trim it out. Glued the head cover as well as the cabin lock and attempted once again. The heli is especially unstable as it tends to drift to the side. I have the rudder stick all the way forward and it doesn't go anywhere. When i hit the left or correct rudder, it desires to orbit extremely rapid. If you don't have adequate space in your house, you will be crashing it regularly. I am a little disappointed in this heli as i thought that it would be as stable and more quickly than the S107 but it is just quicker, no exactly where near as stable. I would save my revenue.

Item came out of the box in fantastic shape, but just after completely charging, main rotor blades would not turn in suffient speed for flight.

Client Reviews

As fantastic as the S107 is you will need to have replacement blades. It type of goes,"If you have a spare tire in fantastic shape, you'll under no circumstances have a flat." Same with added blades.

This is a amazing charger. I have tested them in countless SYMA helicopters red, Yellow, Blue does not matter and have never ever had a difficulty. However there are some non SYMA S107 that are being sold that are not the identical as the true SYMA Helicopters that may possibly be causing the trouble if you are acquiring one particular.
